Mayor Jesus S. Dureza, Jr. attended the meeting convened by Vice Governor Marc Cagas, which was also attended by Matanao Mayor Irick Agbon and representatives from other municipalities in Davao del Sur.

Present at the meeting were Provincial PNP Director Leo Ajero, Provincial HPG Captain Tac-an, Provincial DILG Director Raymond Olivo, and Provincial LTO Head Ed Arocha.

One of the key topics discussed was the pressing issue affecting tricycle and pedicab operators and drivers, who are impacted by DILG Memorandum Circular No. 195-2023. This directive strictly prohibits these motorized vehicles from using national highways.

A collective effort was made to find solutions through shared discussions among the affected municipalities.

Also discussed was the current state of peace and order, especially in relation to national issues, to prevent groups from exploiting these matters to incite unrest in towns and the province as a whole.

Each municipality was urged to remain vigilant and ensure effective coordination for responsive actions.

Citizens were also encouraged to cooperate fully to maintain peace and order within their communities.
